We turn financial data into clear management decisions.
i-consult provides a fractional CFO service and in-depth financial-data analysis to Estonian and international companies, helping leaders make decisions grounded in facts rather than gut feeling.
An approach built on experience
i-consult’s founder, Liina Ihats, has worked in financial and operational management since 2013. Her experience combines an auditor’s analytical rigour with the practical, commercial perspective of an in-house finance lead.
Liina began her career at Grant Thornton Baltic, where she rose to audit manager, and has since worked as an external partner for an international audit firm. Over the years she has led audits and financial reviews across a wide range of sectors — from retail, manufacturing and services to real estate, agriculture and fintech. That long audit experience shaped a clear conviction: a report can tick every box on paper, yet still paint a misleading picture of a company’s finances if you don’t understand what the underlying data actually says.
Since 2016, Liina has worked as an independent CFO/COO and strategic adviser, mainly with small and mid-sized businesses in Estonia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Working inside companies revealed finance leadership’s second, equally important half: simply spotting errors or gaps isn’t enough. The real value comes when the data is translated into plain business language and turned into concrete solutions and decisions.
Combining these two disciplines — the detailed depth of audit and hands-on finance leadership — gave rise to the Financial X-Ray diagnostic methodology. It’s built specifically to look beneath the surface of financial statements and surface data anomalies, duplicated costs, hidden cost leaks and real risks to a company’s cash flow.
How we work
Source data before conclusions
None of our recommendations rests on a surface-level summary report alone. We dig into the source data, the entries and the company’s business logic, because a management decision is only as sound as the data beneath it.
Focused on solutions and priorities
A long list of data-quality or process shortcomings is a document that goes unread and moves nothing forward. We give our findings clear context: why each one holds your growth back, and the concrete steps to fix it. And we prioritise them, so you know exactly where to start.
Straight, honest feedback
If the first mapping call shows your problem needs a different specialist, we’ll say so plainly. And if our analysis finds no significant weaknesses and your processes are exemplary, we’ll say that too. The value of our work comes from being a trustworthy partner, not from inventing problems.
Confidentiality first
Financial data is a company’s most sensitive asset, and we treat it that way. Your data is kept in a secure, access-restricted business environment. When the work ends, or once the agreed period passes, your source data is deleted. For a fuller picture of how we handle data, see our data security page.
